Hi! I'm Ashley Basnight and it's so nice to meet you!

I am a fearless DIYer and Designer, here to inspire you to be bold when designing and updating your home! I am originally from Currituck, North Carolina but somehow
Oklahoma has swept me away from the place I used to call home. I am a graduate of Elizabeth City State University (Viking Pride x3), and studied Computer Science there, which led me to pursue a career in engineering for 9 years.

"FEARLESS DIYER WITH A WHOLE LOT OF ATTITUDE!"

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Back in August of 2016, I started looking for a custom dining table and I could not find anyone in my area to build me one at an affordable price! I was determined to get a custom table and ran across an Instagram page of a woman who built furniture! It was then that I came across a woodworking community of cool builders who were committing their lives to furniture making! I first started off repurposing furniture and spent weeks looking at woodworking plans wondering if I too could do it; after going back and forth in my head, one day I finally just said enough is enough! I have to go for it! So I got up, drove to Home Depot and bought the biggest saw I could find and I built my first dining table with no sort of woodworking background at all; and to my surprise it was pretty good! But I
will let you guys be the judge.

How it All Started!

When I started woodworking, most people would say, "You don't look like the average woodworker, and I would laugh because I find great joy in breaking down stereotypes. A part of my mission is to show the world, specifically women, that you can do whatever you set your mind to, and you can look good doing it. I love to showcase my personality through DIY by using my creativity to take risks and conquer fears.
