Moody Living Room Makeover | E-Design

"A moody Living Room Makeover for a loving family."

There's nothing I love more than a moody living room. This particular family wanted a big change and a modern feel in their living room, os I was able to create a modern design that they would love.

Living room beforeThey requested that they wanted a "moody" feel, so I knew I wanted to darken the walls. I colored the walls a deep olive and coupled it with some lighter furniture pieces and a rust couch. They also wanted a different look for their fireplace, so I decided to go completely black to complement the moody feel.

Living Room E-DesignI love when you can totally transform a space with only a few items; its safe to say that the paint color definitely did wonders for this space and paint is always an inexpensive option.

Master Bedroom Upgrade | E-Design

Master Bedroom Upgrade | E-Design

"A master bedroom upgrade for a young couple."

For this master bedroom update, my clients felt like they were getting older and wanted something more sophisticated. "As you can see, our walls are pretty empty, we are using leftover furniture from different moves, and the lighting is a little off. But now that we are in our mid 30s, it’s time to be grown ups and have a nice bedroom!" Bhavik said.

Master bedroomFor this design, I decided to go moody and use a darker paint color to make the existing bed stand out. Sometimes it may be scary to commit to a darker color, but with great risk, comes great reward.

Master Bedroom UpdateTheir existing room layout was a great layout to be able to lay things out nicely. I love when rooms have a particular layout feel already. It just makes it so much easier to implement a design.

master upgradeFor most of the furniture I went lighter since the room color was so dark and then I added in some contrast with the darker nightstands. I absolutely love how this room came out!

Master BedroomThey also already had this beautiful rug; it wasn't hard to bring this baby to life, she's a real beauty.

Modern Farmhouse Bedroom

Modern Farmhouse Bedroom | E-Design

"Bringing Modern Farmhouse to a Living Room Space."

This by far has been one of my favorite designs, although I've probably said that before. I love all things modern, so I was happy to bring this existing space to life.

Cassidy already had her walls done with shiplap but needed more ideas on how to bring the room together.

The biggest transformation to this room was the addition of the built-ins, it really made this living room pop.

Modern Farmhouse BedroomI always love bringing in different tones to bring contrast. Since Cassidy already had these shiplap walls, I decided to bring in some contrast using light and dark wood tones and man does it look great!

Modern Farmhouse BedroomI also like mixing up different styles, although this was an overall modern room, I used this bohemian rug and rattan coffee table to bring a little flair to the room and the pieces just work so well together.

Airy Entryway | E-Design

Airy Entryway | E-Design

"A light and airy entryway."

Entryways always feel like on of the most important places in the house because they are the first thing you see when you walk in the door. Me personally, I enjoy a light and airy entryway. Nothing too overwhelming, but something that feels nice and inviting.

Modern Entryway - E-Design

If you haven't noticed already, then you should know by now that I absolutely love wall paneling. This wall paneling really gave this small entryway some flavor, and with a very subtle light baby blue, it really brings out the space.

"Earthy Vibes in the Living Room"

I am a lover of all things boho, so this particular design was a fun one! I always have fun playing with earthy tones and this was no different. Something special about this room is that it features a coffee table that I just ordered for my new house. Man do I love that table.

Earthy E DesignI was able to use forest colors to bring a earthy tone to the living room, and that rug! I mean just look at it; its absolutely gorgeous.

Two-Tone Rustic Master Bedroom | E-Design

Two-Tone Rustic Master Bedroom | E-Design

"Two tone never looked so good."

I always love when a client has their own vision of what they want. Don't get me wrong, I love bringing my style to an empty room, but it definitely challenges me when a client gives me specifics. I have to somehow incorporate my design style with what they envision and make something beautiful.

master bedroomI must say this bedroom makeover came out way better than I had imagined. With a mix of tones I was able to create a modern, rustic look and man do I love it.

Bedroom E DesignThe layout was already great, I just used some fresh furniture and colors to really bring this room to life.

Moody Master Bedroom | E-Design

"A moody master bedroom to set the mood."

Theres nothing like a moody bed room to get you prepped for bed. Paulette wanted a different look in her bedroom, and that's what she got. "I would like to paint the walls, however I would like a feature wall," Paulette said.

With some new furniture and a grand feature wall, this simple bedroom was transformed into a great space.

bedroomThe thing  I really love about wall paneling is that it's inexpensive and its pretty easy to tackle for a beginner. Depending on the style, a paneled wall can really make a huge difference in a room.

Everyone loves a good before and after, and I must say this is such a transformation for so little changes.

Tropical Dining Room | E-Design

Tropical Dining Room | E-Design

"Too many windows, said no one ever."

I was so excited to do this design because I knew the windows would really make this space everything with the right furniture! Alexandra wanted to take this space that's normally used as a dumping ground, into a nice dining room.

There wasn't a ton of space for furniture, but with that many windows, it doesn't take much to transform a room like this into a nice oasis.

E-DesignWith a simple dining set and a console for a little bit of storage, this empty room turned into the perfect space to have a nice cup of coffee and just enjoy the view!

E-DesignIf this was my dining room, I don't think I would leave! I mean come on you guys, isn't this just beautiful?

E- Design Modern Farmhouse Basement

Modern Farmhouse Basement | E- Design

"A basement every one will love."

Basements have always been one of my favorite rooms in a house; it always gives off that chill vibe. This basement design was no different! Ashley wanted to envision a space she could learn to love, and I wanted to create that for her.

Unfinished BasementAshley's basement is currently unfinished, so she tasked me to come up with a layout design that best fit their needs. "We are looking for a bar area with a place for stools.." and "I like the idea of black doors if it flows" where just a few of Ashley's requests.

Sometimes a basement can feel overwhelming when you're not sure how to design it, but with the right layout, you can really make it a beautiful space.

Basement DesignI was able to use a mixture of natural, dark and light tones to create a modern farmhouse design for Ashley's basement. The little touches of glam really elevated the space while the rustic elements give off a cozy feel. I must say, I'm now wishing I had a basement like this to makeover.

Basement DesignI decided to add some wall paneling to the TV wall to make it stand out a bit; after all this basement is huge, so I wanted to create a focal point in the room. Its the perfect spot to enjoy the tv from both the sitting area and the eating area.

Basement DesignAshley also requested a bar area, so I implemented a cool shelving system to display the goods and a nice long bar with some bar stools for chill vibes, this coupled with a long dining table makes this basement the perfect chill spot for the family.

Basement

I officially now want my own basement!

"Bringing New York City Vibes to the Sitting Room."

You probably can't tell from looking at my home, but I love all things moody. There is something so awesome about a stylish moody room. Ansley wanted to bring a New York City vibe to her sitting area, so I did just that. She wanted a touch of glam and wanted it to feel fabulous, so fabulous she got!

E DesignThe wall paneling really gave this space a more elegant look. One of my favorite things to do for empty spaces.

Shiplap Design

Shiplap Oasis | E-Design

"A simplistic bedroom never fails"

Have you ever heard the saying "less is more?" Well with this design, that route rings true. Samantha had a shiplap wall that she absolutely loved, but needed some help figuring out the rest." I have a shiplap accent wall that I love...but need mega help with everything else" Samantha said, so I decided to give her a simplistic farmhouse look that would pull the room together.
Shiplap Bedroom
I really loved the existing shiplap wall and knew just how to bring this bedroom to life! With a few new items, I was able to fully transform the room.
E Design
If you don't want major changes, there are always ways to still elevate your design and it's super evident in this one.
Design
One of my favorite additions to the room is the addition of the barn door. I absolutely love how barn doors bring character to a room, and this farmhouse design was definitely elevated by this easy addition.

Cool Vibes in the Family Room | E-Design

"A space the kids will love"

Amber wanted to transform her family room into a space her kids could potentially love when they come to visit; "I would like this to be a practical space when my step kids come over I would like it to be a room to chill, do homework, have storage" Amber said.

I wanted this space to be both moody and fun, so I incorporated a fun sitting space, along with a fun bar and storage to fit Amber's needs!

Living Room E-DesignI wanted to create a light and airy area but also wanted it to feel moody, so I mixed a few textures to bring a family room Amber and her kids could love.
