Portable Sweeper
The fact that this inflator can double as a portable sweeper makes it that much more useful to me. Ridgid 3-1/2 in. Full-Size Palm Nailer
I love small tools with a lot of power. When installing my joist hangers this little tool definitely made the deck building process easier. It does require an air compressor, I use Ryobi's Pancake Air Compressor.
It has a magnetic guide for precise fastener placement and is compact and low in weight. It is compatible with common nails; I used Simpson Strong Tie 1 1/2" nails and SImpson Strong Tie 3" Nails.
See the video below to see how I put this tool to work on my floating deck.
The Ridgid Palm Nailer retails for $59.98 at The Home Depot. Check out the video below to see it in action.

DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with Brake
Anything cordless is ok in my book but this Dewalt saw really impressed me. I have had a few test runs with her and so far she cuts like a breeze. It has a bevel capacity up to 57 degrees and works great with cross cutting 2x’s, and is great on runtime. I can't wait to test her out on my deck boards. Stay tuned for some videos with this saw in action, in my floating deck tutorial posts. This saw retails for $159.00 at The Home Depot.
Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Brushless Hammer Drill Kit
My Ryobi hammer drill has done great with my deck project. Check out my full tool review here on what I think about it.

They have tough leather material ideal for heavy duty jobs and very suitable for wet conditions. If you are in need of some good outdoor working gloves, look no further. They retail for $14.98 at your local Home Depot.
Dewalt 15 Amp 12 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw
I have been using this saw for a while now and I must say its heavy duty. I would highly recommend Dewalt brand to anyone. It features Dual horizontal steel rails with a innovative clamping mechanism and miters 60 degrees to the right and 50 degrees to the left, providing increased capacity. It retails for $399.00 at The Home Depot. DEWALT's 35ft Tape measure is also a great buy!

TESTING OUT THE DREMEL PET GROOMING ROTARY TOOL
Testing out the Dremel Pet Grooming Rotary Tool was super fun to say they least. I was so lucky to have Albi to help me test it out. The paw guide definitely came in handy, that was evident in the very beginning. I also liked that the dremel wasn't very loud. I know some dogs get startled by loud objects but Albi wasn't even phased by the noise. The Dremel being cordless was also a big deal because there were times when Albi would walk away lol he apparently had other plans; with the Dremel being cordless it was easy to just walk over to him versus trying to get him to come by an outlet. It was also a nice additive to have two speeds. Over all I think the tool worked great and would recommend it for any pet owner.
FAVORITE FEATURES
Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Guard - The Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Tool features a guard attachment that has a 45° angle paw guide and a clear cap for easy viewing. This helps ensure the dogs paws don't get harmed by drilling the nail too far down. It also features a hinged design for easy cleaning and assembly and can be used with other compatible Dremel rotary tools
EZ LOCK - Dremel's EZ lock mandrel and sanding discs made it very easy to switch out the discs. We were ready to start grooming within minutes of unboxing the Dremel.
Huge Shoutout to my two friends Schatzi and Albi for helping me test out this Dremel Nail Grooming Kit. I think they deserve a treat!
The Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Rotary Tool Kit retails for $38.84 at the Home Depot.

Diablo Reciprocating Saw Blade Tool Review
"Aint no blade, like a Diablo blade, cuz a Diablo blade don't stop"
This saw blade review will give you a reason to want to pick up a Makita reciprocating saw.
This review is sponsored by the Home Depot as a part of The Home Depot's Pro-Spective Campaign.
Since I started building, Diablo has always been a trusted name I've heard people recommend. So I was excited to try out these Carbide Pruning and Clean Wood Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blades. Even better then trying these blades out, I get to test them with the Makita Reciprocating Saw.
But before I started testing these babies out I knew I had to create some kind of storage for these blades because they definitely fall under the "tools I'll most likely lose list" so in addition to this saw blade review, I created a holding box for my blades, Makita reciprocating saw, and saw battery.

Its amazing the kind of space and time you save from having the proper storage. This sits right on my shelf in my garage and I now have no worries that I will lose those blades! The best part was it only took me 30 mins to build and it looks pretty nice next to my Makita Pin nailer!
Luckily, I have put some plans together so you can create your own too. I used MDF to build this because I had some scraps lying around but I would recommend using pine at least for sturdier storage. Check out the free plans below!
Step 1: Attach the bottom (11.5"x 21.75") piece to the back (12" x 21.75") piece together using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 3/4" setting, with 1 1/4" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. Pocket holes should be made on the bottom piece.
Step 2: Attach the two side pieces to the assembled storage using a brad nailer and brad nails along with wood glue.
The corner pieces were cut out with my jigsaw.
and then attached with a brad nailer and wood glue.
Step 3: Attach the triangular pieces to the assembled storage using wood glue.
Step 4: Begin assembling the saw holder piece by attaching the back (3.25"x2.5") rectangle to the front (2.5"x2.5") square using wood glue and brad nails.
Step 5: Attach the two side holders to the assembled saw holder piece with wood glue and brad nails. I cut this piece out on my Ryobi Bandsaw.
Step 6: Attach the assembled saw holder piece to the storage with wood glue and brad nails. The top of the saw holder piece should be placed across from the triangular piece at one inch.
Step 7: Cut out spaces in your two 7" (1x2) pieces using a bandsaw and attach to the storage using wood glue.
I drilled a hole in the back of my stor of my storage for my charger cord but this is optional to you.
and Waaa-lahhhh!! The perfect storage for your saw!
Now back to the blades! These blades are Diablo's first carbide pruning blade. It's cutting life is much greater than that of regular pruning blades and its carbide tooth geometry delivers fast and effortless cuts.
Using this Diablo blade coupled with the Makita Reciprocating saw is making my process of breaking down my pallet sectional down super easy. It's strengthened, oversized blade body makes cutting a breeze.
This was my first experience with a reciprocating saw and I was well pleased with this thing. It's definitely got some power. It has a compact design that made it easy to carry, and though it looks like a heavy tool, I found it easy to work with.
I also liked the easiness of changing out the blade. No real work involved and luckily Makita's batteries can be used across tools. I am a fan of both of these products. If you enjoyed this saw blade review and want some of your own, be sure to check out your local Home Depot.
The Diablo Carbide Pruning and Clean Wood Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blades retail for $23.97 (9") and $31.97 (12") at The Home Depot. You can also find the Makita Reciprocating saw here.

Staging a Room using Feature Wall Boards and Decor
Faux brick, carpet , bamboo floors, shiplap all in one room? Sign me up!
This review is sponsored by the Home Depot as a part of The Home Depot's Pro-Spective Campaign.
When I bought my house, I definitely wasn’t thinking about natural light, and even though I LOOOOVE my first home, theres only one room that gets decent natural lighting. Go figure! With being a blogger and trying to take decent photos, this one room was starting to get old.
I absolutely love that my house came with grey walls and pretty beige carpet. I fell in love at first sight, but I started to notice the pictures I was staging were starting to look a little too similar for my liking!
So I got the cool idea to make feature wall boards and use other home items to re-create my “golden room” into the perfect picture room.
For the sake of this post I have taken shots to show off some of my smaller feature boards and photos of how a photo can look if you photo it properly.
I am sharing my favorite backdrop combo first!
BRICK AND BAMBOO
Home Depot sells these faux brick panels that are perfect for a back drop. You can opt to keep it the natural brick color and boom another feature wall, or you can do like I did and give it a more modern look.
Chalk paint is my ABSOLUTE favorite type of paint, mostly because of the dry time. It can be a little pricey but well worth it in my opinion.
I first painted all my brick panel in this RustOluem “Aged Gray.” Next I painting the lines in between the bricks white and then lightly brushed white over the brick pieces in different areas. After that I mixed some of the white and grey together and painted over certain spots. There’s no real technique to this part, you can make it look as distressed as you want it.
For the bottom of the picture I used a bamboo rug! How clever is that? An inexpensive way to create a hardwood floor look. Ive shown staged pictures to my friends with this rug and they always say “Im so jealous of your floors” haha imagine their faces when I tell them its only a rug, and an inexpensive one at that!
With this brick feature wall and bamboo rug, that now creates extra looks for me to stage my photos. Like brick and carpet!
This faux brick also looks great for a faux fireplace. I teamed up with Home Depot to create this faux fireplace; and created two faux brick looks, to see the tutorial on how I created this Fireplace click here!
Here's a shot of the fireplace with the bamboo rug! This shot has a different faux brick and is included on the Home Depot post! This picture features limewash! I just love the way it changes the look of the room!
WHITE SHIPLAP FEATURE WALL
I was working on a project and had a mdf board left over so I figured why not create a simple white feature wall board. I wanted it to look like shiplap but I defintely didn’t want to spend the time creating a real shiplap board so I used my handy dandy dremel to create a similar look! It was super easy and took half the time to create the look I was going for. I used the Multi-Max Flush Cut Blade to make the line cuts. This blade can cut doorjambs, windowsills, copper water pipes and more! I am a new found dremel lover. There's so much you can do with this thing!
My MDF board was a ½”. You can buy a full 4x8 sheet of this for about $20 which is super inexpensive, especially for a feature wall board. You can either use the whole board or cut it to a desired size. The choice is yours!
To start I used an additional board 6" wide to help mark the shiplap lines. I clamped the board down and traced a line along the back of the additional board, for when I unclamped and moved the board down. Then I used the dremel to make a line down the mdf board. I had to go over the line about 15 times to make the line deep enough.
Once finishing all the lines, I used some leftover Behr White Paint to paint the MDF and waaaa-laahhh another feature board.
I can't wait to create more looks!

WHAT'S INCLUDED
The box comes packed with a P251 Ryobi brushless hammer drill, a P108 4Ah high capacity lithium+ battery, a P117 dual chemistry charger, a screwdriver bit, a auxiliary handle assembly, a tool bag and operator’s manual. Wow, that sounds like a steal.
There are some affiliate links in this post, meaning I get a small commission if you purchase through these links, at no cost to you. Click Here to read my full disclosure.
TESTING THE DRILL
First, I will start out by saying I was a little leery of trying this tool. I got the Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill/Driver a while back and wasn't 100% pleased with the power on that thing and I was skeptical on whether this hammer drill would be the same way.
I normally use a DEWALT 18V Drill and I normally don't use any other drill that doesn't match up, but I was presently surprised! This Ryobi Brushless Hammer Drill is definitely a contender. I now use both this Ryobi Brushless Hammer Drill and my 18V DEWALT drill hand in hand. So Kudos to you Ryobi!
BATTERY LIFE
This Ryobi Brushless Hammer Drill is equipped with a brushless motor that provides 50% longer runtime and it definitely shows! I am always picking up and using my drill during my project builds and its nice when you don't have to worry about switching batteries out until after your done building. Very pleased with the run-time.
DRILL MODES
I did a number of screwing and drilling but the most exciting test for me was seeing how the brushless hammer drill did with drilling holes into a center block/concrete. I was well pleased with the performance. Knowing that the Ryobi Hammer Drill has the power to get through concrete makes me feel that much better about having it around in the shop.
To drill the holes I used the Bosch Multi-Purpose Carbide Drill Bits. These bits can be used to drill Tile, Masonry, Wood, Metal and Concrete. I first learned about these at the THD Prospective event in Atlanta and just knew I needed to get some of these and luckily Bosch sent this set over to me! Bits for the win! These bits are the truth and luckily they are sold at your Local Home Depot. Retails for $19.97.
FAVORITE FEATURES
3 MODES
The Ryobi Hammer Drill comes ready with 3 modes. A drill mode for drilling holes in wood, plastic and metal. A drive mode for driving screws and bolts and a hammer mode for drilling holes in masonry and concrete. It provides a clutch override for quick mode changes from drilling to driving. With these three modes the Hammer Drill has all the options you need to make sure you can get the job done.
MAGTRAY Magnetic Holder
This feature is one of my favs because I am always misplacing my bits! This Ryobi Brushless Hammer Drill has a MAGTRAY magnetic holder for convenient storage of screws and bits.
Auxiliary Handle
I found this auxiliary handle super useful when drilling through concrete. It has a depth stop rod included for accuracy while drilling and it is also removable if not needed during a project which I was happy about.
Kit Package
Not that this is really a feature but I love that this hammer drill comes in a kit with the 4Ah high capacity lithium+ battery and the dual chemistry charger. I think it definitely makes the purchase well worth it.
HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?
Honestly, there was nothing I could really think of that would improve this Hammer Drill, which means I was super pleased with it. For the price and what you get, I would highly recommend this tool for any builder.

TESTING THE DREMEL
I found it kind of hard to create this Dremel 4300 review because I was getting so caught up with all the attachments and having WAAAY to much fun with this thing, but this Dremel 4300 was pretty straight forward, easy to use, comfortable in my hand and in my opinion, a well made product. The Dremel 4300 has a slim, ergonomic body design that provides a comfortable 360-degree grip zone no matter how you hold it for extended ease of use. The noise level of the Dremel isn't too bad either. I was well pleased with this tool.
FAVORITE FEAUTURES
THREE-JAW CHUCK
So this was my first time using a Dremel but the Dremel 4300 is the first Dremel rotary tool that allows tool-less and collet-less accessory changes with the inclusion of the three-jaw chuck. The chuck is compatible with all Dremel accessory shank sizes for fast and convenient accessory changes without ever using a wrench. I personally would prefer the chuck over a collet, so well done Dremel. I am a fan of the change.
VARIABLE SPEED
I'm so glad this Dremel 4300 has variable speed; it definitely came in handy when I was sanding a smaller project and I'm sure it will be useful in the future. The speed control dial at the bottom of the Dremel was very easy to operate to switch between speeds.
ATTACHMENTS/PIECES
So the fact that this Dremel comes with over 40 attachments/pieces just makes me excited about how many things I can get accomplished with this thing. Before I could finish one project I was thinking of 5 other things to do with this baby. It also comes with a pretty sweet carrying case.
HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?
CORDLESS
Maybe I have been a little spoiled with all of the new cordless tools I have been getting but if this Dremel was cordless I think it would put the icing on the cake. It's already a great tool but I would love if this thing could be detached from it's ugly cord brother! HA!

DEWALT Bluetooth Radio Charger Tool Review
This review is sponsored by the Home Depot as a part of The Home Depot's Pro-Spective Campaign.
I don't know about you but music is a MUST in my shop; and this DEWALT Bluetooth Radio and Charger is living up to my standards!
WHATS INCLUDED
The box comes packed with the one DEWALT Bluetooth Radio Charger. Any batteries that go along with the radio/charger must be purchased separately or bought in a bundle. This Bluetooth radio is compatible with all DEWALT 20 volt/60 volt batteries, but is still able to be powered by a connected AC power cord.

TESTING THE RADIO CHARGER
To test the DEWALT Bluetooth Radio Charger I used the AC power cord, as well as a FLEXVOLT DEWALT battery to see how it held up. This baby definitely is durable. While testing it out, there was an accidental drop test that took place and let's just say this radio will stand the test of time!
The radio quality was pretty decent. The signal was a lot better outside than inside my shop but nothing too noticeable. I'm not much of a radio person, but for all who like to listen in on podcasts, I think you will be pretty satisfied.
When I unplugged the radio from outlet power, I had the battery in place and there was no interruption in music, which I thought was pretty nice! Especially when your right in the middle of "your song."
FAVORITE FEATURES
BLUETOOTH
I love anything with Bluetooth, so I may be a little bias on this part. But compared to other tools/products I’ve used, this Bluetooth radio was by far the fastest Bluetooth linking set up I have experienced. Normally, I have to try and link 2 or 3 times to try and get a connection, but I pulled this baby straight out of the box, powered it on, went to my Bluetooth section on my phone and clicked the Bluetooth link in less than a minute and BOOM she was connected, just like that. So thumbs up DEWALT! As a tech junkie, you guys impressed me.
ADDITIONAL OUTLETS
I love that this DEWALT Radio has additional outlets. My shop doesn't have many and the one I do have is buried behind a workbench so plugging and unplugging can be a hassle for me. Having these additional outlets handy definitely makes this radio charger worth having in the shop.
USB CHARGER/AUX PORT
Other than bluetooth, audio can also be played by connecting an audio device or mobile phone using a 1/8' (3.5 mm) audio cable to the audio port located inside the storage box. A USB port is also available if you want to charge your phone! This definitely comes in handy for me.
BOTTLE OPENER
How handy is it that the radio charger comes equipped with this bottle opener! This was a very cool additive to this radio charger.
RADIO CONTROLS
I don't know about you but I am girl that loves some bass, so I was happy to see that this radio charger came equipped with controls to adjust the treble and bass. Kudos again to you DEWALT. I also love that there is a mute button, so if someone walks up you can just press one button instead of powering the whole radio off or turning the volume down.
HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?
PLACEMENT OF THE POWER BUTTON
This is something I stumbled over, but nonetheless something that could cause some aggravation. The power button is placed directly in the front of the radio and is easily turned off and on with one easy button press.
When first operating the DEWALT radio, I found that when I would reach directly over the radio to grab something I would hit the button accidently and it would cut the radio off. I did this three times before I decided to move it somewhere else. Again, no REAL issue, but I think moving the power button elsewhere, or making it harder to press would make this radio better for that reason. P.S My claws come out when I’m in the middle of my song and the music cuts off.

Ryobi Cordless Belt Sander Tool Review
This Ryobi Belt Sander Review answers the questions you've been wondering.
WHATS INCLUDED
The box comes packed with three items. A Ryobi P450 belt sander, dust bag and 80-grit sandpaper belt.
TESTING THE SANDER
The Ryobi Cordless Belt Sander comes with a little dust collection bag, and it doesn't do too bad of a job but I think another alternative for dust collection would probably be best for this sander.
FAVORITE FEATURES
BRUSHLESS MOTOR
Ryobi's brushless motor technology allows the tool to produce speeds up to 850 FPM allowing real cordless convenience. The amperage is a little higher on this Ryobi sander, so its giving more torque with the motor.
BELT REMOVAL
The Ryobi Cordless Brushless Belt Sander is equipped with a plastic lever on the side for easy belt removal. A new one can be installed in seconds meaning no loss of productivity.
5 POSITION POMMEL (HANDLE)
The Ryobi Cordless Brushless Belt Sander can be moved in 5 different positions, I found this to be very helpful for comfort, especially when sanding for long periods of time. One of the things I like the most is that you can get to the very edge of something when the handle is adjusted all the way up. So for those sanding floors, this would be very helpful when trying to sand spots right up against a wall.
LOCK ON SWITCH
Although this is a standard feature on similar brushless sanders, its nice to know the Ryobi Cordless Belt Sander has this feature. When sanding for long periods of time, this lock on switch comes in handy. Having to hold the on switch just causes finger cramping after a while, so this tool really helps maximize user control and convenience while you work. Once locked in, a quick press of the on button will stop the sander.
HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?
VARIABLE SPEED
Whether or not variable speed would really make a difference with this tool is still an unanswered question for me but I'd rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it. I hear that Ridgid's model has variable speed.
The Ryobi Cordless Belt Sander retails for $129.00 at the Home Depot.
