"Milwaukee is shining bright with this Cordless Rocket Dual Power Tower Light"

One thing I have always been short on is lights in the shop. My "shop" is really my two car garage and it definitely didn't come equipped with much lighting, so I was super excited to try out this Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rocket Dual Power Tower Light.

What's Included

This box comes packed with the one  Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rocket Dual Power Tower Light. Home Depot also offers kits that included the charger and battery but luckily this tool is fully compatible with the M18 system, so I used one of my other Milwaukee batteries to test this power light out. 

Testing out the Milwaukee Power Tower Light

Any tool I can set without using a manual is a win for me. This light pretty much is self explanatory. It setups and breaks down easily and serves as a great addition to a dark shop.

I was happy to see the different light settings on the power light and how easy it was to change between them with a push of the power button.

The Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rocket Dual Power Tower Light also seems pretty durable. When I bump into it, it will slide before it tips over, which is great for me, because I'm always moving things around in my shop. I also love the tower portion of the light, it came in handy when working on the ground, I was able to put it beside me and shine it directly down on the project I was working on.

Favorite Features

5-Second Setup

The setup was really as easy as 1,2,3. I like the ability to be able to easily break down the light for storage or traveling.

2,500 Lumens

My shop definitely needs light help, so the more lumens the better. The  Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rocket Dual Power Tower Light provides 2,500 lumens of brightness. This would be an awesome light for a job site, it definitely is a great addition to my garage.

Cordless and A/C

Although I'm a huge fan of cordless, its nice to be able to have the option to plug in the light for unlimited power. Who doesn't love options?

How it Could Be Better?

I think this light is a bit pricey. I think now that I have one, I'm glad to have it but I don't know if I'm happy about the cost. It would be nice if it was priced a bit lower. Nonetheless, I am glad to have it as a part of my shop.

I tried this saw out once before at a Home Depot Tool Event and I was initially impressed, but now that I've gotten the chance to really put this baby to the test, I'm sold. Hands down, one of my favorites.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

The 18-Volt X2 LXT 5.0Ah Lithium-Ion (36-Volt) Brushless Cordless Rear Handle 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw Kit comes packed with two batteries, a dual-pot charger, Makita bag and the rear handle circular saw.

This is no light tool, so the bag is a great addition to the kit.

TESTING OUT THE MAKITA REAR HANDLE CIRCULAR SAW

The two batteries on the circular saw really give this saw power. It easily cut through 3/4" plywood. Far easier than other circular saws I've used in the past. For a cordless saw, I was really impressed, it generates the power of 15A corded circular saws.

The rear handle made it a lot easier to push along the plywood without having to lean all the way over the plywood sheet, making one handed cuts that much easier. The rear handle also seems to be super helpful with awkward cuts, it allows you more control in positions that may seem compromising.

Normally, I use a DEWALT circular saw, but using this rear handle circular saw made me want to change tools. The cuts are just really smooth with this saw. Even the provided blade seem to cut through the plywood well. I normally switch out my circular saw blades for diablo blades but I left the manufactured blade in and it did just fine.

X2 LXT Technology

Makita's  X2 LXT Technology delivers up to 558 cross cuts per charge (2x4) and 291 cuts (2x10) with the two LXT batteries.

Ergonomic Design

Although this circular saw is a powerful machine, surprisingly it doesn't feel bad in hand. It only weighs 12.4 lbs with the two batteries and is on 17 1/2" in length. It does have a little more weight than normal circular saws but the weight is well balanced in my opinion.

Bevel Capacity

The Makita circular saw has a 0 degree to 53 degree bevel capacity with positive stops at 22.5 degrees, 45 degrees and 53 degrees.

HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?

I don't really have much of a suggestion for how this saw could be better because I was just that impressed with it, but it would be nice if the kit came with an edge guide as an extra additive. The saw itself in my opinion is great, but any extra attachments obviously would be awesome.

"Bosch has got the right tools to get your wall hangings in order."  

Step 1: Measure The Distance of the Wall

Because I want my picture frame to hang in the middle of the wall, the first thing I'll do is measure the distance of the wall from right to left.  I used my BLAZE 65 ft/ laser distance measurer to measure the wall.

This Laser measure measures where a tape measure can't. This laser measure is precise and accurate to 1/8 in. 

With one simple button press you can measure the distance of your wall up to 65 ft. You press it once to begin measuring in measurement mode, and then press it again to hold the measurement.

I especially like this laser measure because its compact and easy to hold. Once I got the measurement of the wall, I divided the measurement in half to get the measurement for where  wanted to hang my picture.

Step 2: Use Self-Leveling Laser to Hang Photo

I then pulled out my self-leveling laser to help me line up the picture. Let me tell you, this leveling laser is the real deal. I don't think I'll ever have a problem with hanging photos again. This laser has a visible line range of 200 ft with a 3/32 in. accuracy up to 30 ft.

This self-leveling laser features two vertical lines that cross at 90 degree angles to quickly square the layout of a room. It also features an upgraded diode with a bright beam and has  a visible range of up to 200 ft. diameter and a working range of up to 300 ft.diameter. This laser includes VisiMax Technology for maximum line visibility.

One feature I also like is that the self-leveling laser will beep when the laser is not stable. This would really come in handy if the laser got off balance but you didn't realize. This feature ensures that the laser will always stay in a level position.

With the Bosch laser measure and Bosch self-leveling laser, your photo is sure to be nice and level.

I have had my fair share of shop vacs and RIDGID's vacs have always been one of a kind. I have a 16 and 12 gallon in my shop, so I was happy to try out this smaller 4-galloon version and I must say, I am impressed.

TESTING OUT THE RIDGID WET/DRY VAC

Testing out the Ridgid 4 Gallon Wet/Dry Vac was quite nice. It seemed to have decent suction and I really like that the accessories store nicely in the back of the vacuum. I chose to vacuum out my car because this vac seems like a much nicer size to use when doing jobs like this vs. my 12. or 16. gallon.

It's compact design also makes it easy to carry, which is nice for jobs like this and even though its smaller it has the power of a vac three times it's size. The large wheels on the rear also add to portability.

I wouldn't use this vac for dust collection or anything like that, but jobs like vacuuming out the car or smaller jobs are definitely worth purchasing this 4-gallon vac.

FAVORITE FEATURES

7ft. Hose

The 7 ft. tug along hose offer clog free performance and definitely comes in handy when vacuuming out my SUV. Getting across those seats without moving the vac around a lot was definitely a plus.

Accessory Storage

The accessory storage caddy in the back of the RIDGID vac keeps all of the accessories organized and close by for easy access. It also makes it a lot easier to store away.

20 ft. Cord

I can really appreciate the 20 ft. cord on this shop vac. It provides an extensive reach which eliminates the use of an extension cord for most projects. This extension reach allows you more range when vacuuming.

HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?

This will always be my suggestion for wet/dry vacs until I see it done, but storing the vac always stinks when you have to put that hose away. This vac stores easily with it's compact design, but wrapping that long hose is always a pain. This is a gripe I have with most vacs, but overall I was pleased with it.

Also, even though this is a 4-gallon vac, be mindful that the filter takes up a lot of space, so your actual vac capacity might be a little less. It would be nice if the capacity was an actual 4 gallons with the filter included.

Testing out the Ryobi Rotary Tool 

To try out my rotary tool, I decided to create some designs on some terra cotta pots; a quick, but fun project. First, I painted the pots with different colors.

If you didn't know, Home Depot often has used paint on sale for cheap in the paint section. I got these little sample colors for 50 cents each. Perfect buy for this small project.

I used a small paint brush to paint the different pots with different colors just to make it fun. These paint samples were great for these small clay pots.

Once the paint was dry, I used my Ryobi Rotary tool to draw designs on the terra cotta pots. This does require come kind of steadiness of the hand, but this seemed fairly easy to do. 

With the right accessory, I was able to create different designs on these clay pots.

The flexible shaft made it very easy to maneuver the rotary tool around for use and because the rotary tool has rubber feet, it stayed in place while I was moving the compact pen around.

Favorite Features

Key Storage

I don't know about you, but I always have trouble keeping up with small accessories. I really love that the Ryobi rotary tool has integrated key holes for easy storage. It gives me confidence that I can keep up with the rotary tool's accessories. With 33 accessories included, this was the perfect addition to the rotary tool.

Flexible Shaft

The 36 in. flexible shaft makes it easy to maneuver during use and it was very easy to attach to the rotary tool. I also like that the universal accessory collet was easy operational. With a push down of one button I was able to switch out accessories.

I also like that the pen is compact for comfort and ultimate precision. It would be perfect for calligraphy jobs.

Variable Speed

I think having variable speed on any tools increases the function ability for any tool. The Ryobi Rotary tool features variable up to 34,000 RPM for enhanced performance.

How Could it Be Better?

Although I love the attachment area, I do wish the rotary tool was a little smaller. For certain jobs, I can see how the size of the rotary tool would make things a little harder.

I also noticed that the rotary tool got hot quickly. I don't know if this is an indication of anything, but it is something I noticed. I'm wondering if that could be an issue for longer jobs.

TESTING OUT THE SPADE BIT SET

While I was testing out this Bosch DareDevil Spade Bit Set, I quickly noticed that these bits are a lot quicker when it comes too drilling and they seem very tough and durable. 

Now be advised, when you use these spade bits the chips will fly and things will get messy, but the bits will get the job done. I would probably use this set more If I was drilling holes all the way through the wood, rather than halfway, just because of the roughness of the hole. 

These bits would be really good for drilling out residential rough in electric or any project were your'e not necessarily looking for a 100% clean hole.

When drilling, I really didn't need to press down hard and put a lot of weight behind it, it pulls through on its own. I used my Ridgid Drill/Driver  to drill these holes and they made the perfect couple.

Theres a good range of sizes in this set, so you get a good range of sizes.

Self Feeding Tip

The Bosch DareDevil spade bits features a self-feeding full thread tip that allows fast and effortless drilling. The full thread tip delivers fast drilling through wood and pulls the spade bit through the materiel. 

Spur and Reamer Tip

HOW IT COULD BE BETTER?

I really like this 10 pc. Bosch Spade set, the only thing I would have liked is if this set came with some kind of pouch to keep them together. I have used other sets that came with a pouch and it helped a lot with storage them away.

"Dremel is bringing endless opportunities."

I've always loved Dremel's because there are so many different things you can tackle with them. So today I wanted to share a run down of six things you can actually accomplish with a Dremel.

When it comes to Dremel, you might can call me an expert because I have tried them all. Whether new model, or new feature, Ive checked it out and I'm happy to share my experiences with you today.

1. Calligraphy

If calligraphy is your thing, then you're in luck. Dremel's Stylo Craft Tool is the perfect tool to get those intricate calligraphy job's done.

With its lightweight design and quiet motor, its one tool boulle be glad you have laying around. To learn more about the Dremel Stylo Craft Tool check out my review here.

The Dremel Flex Shaft is also a great alternative for calligraphy. It features a 36 in" long cable. with a 5" bend radius for flexibility and  can be used with the Dremel rotary tools. The Flex shaft like all Dremels, carry so many capabilities. 

2. Cutting

One of the main uses for my Dremel's are normally to cut things. One thing I love about the Dremel brand are the amount of accessories the have to choose from.

Dremel has a Dremel EZ Lock cut-off wheel set for metal and plastic that includes 10 wheels and 1 mandrel. The wheels are labeled for easy application identification and are the perfect addition to my set of accesories.

These cutting wheels worked out great for making my little wooden bowties. The also couple well with the Dremel 4300. It's ideal for grinding, sanding, cutting, carving and more ad it features Dremel's most powerful motor for maximum performance. It comes with a few great accessories featuring a removable pivot light.

Cutting baseboards is also a great way to utilize the Dremel. I have used my Dremel Multi-Max a few times on floor installation projects. Check out how I used my Dremel MultiMax to help install my vinyl flooring in my laundry room here.

The Dremel SAW-MAX is also a great Dremel to tackle smaller cuts. A shown above I am cutting some small shims. They aren't as sturdy so I used my saw-max to get the job done. It will make flush cuts, plunge cuts and regular straight cuts with ease and can cut through most materials including metal. And rest assured, you can expect more accessories with any Dremel tool you buy.

3. Sanding

If your a woodworker like me, sanding is a big part of what you do. But every now and then, you have those smaller, more delicate areas that just won't work with a regular sander. 

I've used my Dremel plenty of times to sand those small spaces, or to sand wood that is delicate to ensure I'm getting the best product.  And rest assured, Dremel has got you covered with accessories for sanding as well.

This particular Dremel accessory kit shown above is perfect for grinding and sanding applications, it includes 2 mandrels, 2 grinding stones, 6 sanding discs and more as you can see. The great thing is these accessories are compatible with all of Dremel's rotary tools.

This accessory kit is pictured with the Dremel 8220, and I have to share why this is now my number one go to for Dremel's. Its Cordless! I have been waiting and waiting for Dremel to make their rotary tools cordless, and the Dremel 8220 is an answer to my prayer.

You can really use it on the go and come with a whole case full of accessories and a battery and charger.

Dremel also has a mini-kit for sanding and polishing materials, pictured above.  It helps clean, smooth, polish and restore materials and includes 7 EX Lock polishing and sanding accesories.

4. Filling Pocket Holes

This is probably the most beneficial thing I get from using Dremel's as a woodworker. With every project I'm doing, I am always using pocket holes and most times, I have to take the time to fill them in.

5. Pet Grooming

This may come as a surprise, but Dremel has covered all areas. That's right, even your pet can go out in style with Dremel's Pet Nail Grooming Rotary.

6. Screwdriver

Now this is one of my favorite of the Dremel's because it's such a practical tool and something I can use often. 

This Dremel Go Cordless Screwdriver is more powerful than any existing screwdriver with the same size and has an operation style that allows you to drive screws with just a push. I use this tool when a drill is just too powerful, If your changing out a light switch or just need to drive in a small screw, this is the tool for you. Calling all landscapers! Man do I have the tool for you. Today, I am sharing all the new features of the Milwaukee QUIK-LOK and I guarantee you, you don't want to miss this.

What's Included

With the Milwaukee Trimmer being a part of the M18 system, I was able to use one of my older Milwaukee batteries during testing. Making all tools compatibility just makes it so much easier on the user and at the same time, eliminates cost, which I love.

I was happy to see that the trimmer came pre-loaded with string, that was an added plus. After taking about 5 minutes to load up the trimmer and get it ready. I was cutting in no time. Compared to other gas trimmers I've used in the past. This Milwaukee trimmer seems to be neck and neck with what's currently out there. 

As soon as I pulled the trimmer, it was full throttle in one second. It definitely has some power behind it. It seemed as if It was a little less noisy as well, which is great being close to my neighbors houses.

This Milwaukee trimmer also feels well balanced with the battery in place. I could carry this thing for a while and not get tired of holding it. The handle also has good grip and can be accommodating for right and left handed people.

QUIK-LOK Attachment Capable

The fact that this tool comes with so many other attachments just makes this tool that much more worth it. With being in a small shop, I definetly don't have room for four or five different outdoor tools, but these attachments save space, and make the QUIK-LOK system way more appealing.

What's Included

The Milwaukee Chainsaw Kit includes the 1 M18 FUEL 16 in. chainsaw, one 16 in. Oregon bar and chain and one scrench.

Testing the Milwaukee Chainsaw

Before testing out the Milwaukee Chainsaw, I first added some Milwaukee Chainsaw Oil, specifically bar and chain oil into the specified container. If you didn't know the bar and chain oil helps keep the chain lubricated while operating the saw. This helps prevent lock up, so this is an important first step before operating the saw. 

Also note that you should run the chain for about 30 seconds before operating to ensure the distribution of the chain oil. 

The first thing that I noticed was the ease of operation. I always thought of chainsaws as an intimidating tool as a kid, watching my dad chop down big trees and seeing all of the power exerted out of chainsaws, it was just one of those tools that were on my stay away list, but this Milwaukee chainsaw was very user friendly. I would definitely recommend this model for anyone who may be a little intimidated.

Cutting through wood seemed to be quick and easy with Milwaukee's great chain speed and to be battery powered, I'm super impressed. This Milwaukee chainsaw exerts the same performance and power as a 40 cc gas chainsaw, with professional landscaper durability and performance.

I also like that the chainsaw doesn't feel too heavy. I have used some heavier models in the past and that can really become an issue when you're making a ton of cuts. I would recommend this chainsaw for smaller cut jobs for sure.

Here are a few tips on operating the chainsaw safely:

- Always grip the saw firmly with both hands

- Make sure your cutting area is clean and free from obstruction

- Always cut with the chainsaw running at full speed

-Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

Favorite Features

Cordless

I don't know about you but any tools that required the ole gas and pull of a string trick were tools I liked to stay away from. I think tools have come a long way and it shows with this Milwaukee chainsaw.

I hear many concerns about whether cordless is truly better than gas-powered tools, and this Milwaukee chainsaw is proof that cordless is becoming a great contender with gas-powered tools. 

The battery life seemed to be pretty great on this thing, which makes the cordless feature that much better.

Compatibility

Because this isn't a tool that I would pick up often, it's nice to know that's it's fully compatible with the M18 system. I don't have to worry about having separate batteries for this particular tool, I can use it across all Milwuakee M18 products.

Chain Brake

With this type of tool, safety features like this chain brake are a must. We don't always do things in a safe manner, so having this feature on the chainsaw makes me feel much better about using this tool.

This chain brake will stop the chain if kickback occurs to reduce accidents and when the brake is pushed forward, the saw won't run. I make sure to use the chain brake anytime I'm storing my Milwaukee chainsaw or transporting it.

How it Could be Better?

I don't know how big of an issue this is, but during my chainsaw use it seemed as if the chainsaw was flinging oil a little bit. I could see how this could be frustrating in the future.

I am very excited to be reviewing these two tools today. When I first started building I had no clue about which table saw would be best fit for my needs, so I was happy to get my hands on this DEWALT 10" compact table saw, and I also have music while reviewing it with this DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker? Sounds like a match made in heaven.

What's Included

The DEWALT 15-Amp Corded 10 in. Compact Job Site Table Saw Model DW745S box comes packed with the DEWALT 10" table saw including a rip fence and blade guard and a table saw stand. 

The DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker comes packed with the one bluetooth speaker and manual. 

Testing the DEWALT Table Saw

Other than an easy set-up process, the DEWALT 10" table saw was very easy to operate. I must admit, table saws can be very intimidating, but this compact saw felt really easy and manageable to use.

Because this DEWALT 15-Amp Corded 10 in. Compact Job Site Table Saw was a breeze, I decided to shoot my setup process to show you just how easy it was to set up out of the box. Check out the video below to see.

The fence wasn't completely square out of the box, but with a small technique, I was able to tilt the fence bracket backwards to make it square. the few cuts I made on the saw were precise and accurate, which makes me feel good about having this table saw in my shop. Even though it features a lightweight design, it still has enough weight to provide stability when working with lumber with some weight to it, which is important.

The table saw bade provided with the table saw was pretty decent. As a woodworker, I may change it out for something a little stronger, especially if I'm working with harder woods, but I was pretty satisfied with the blade it came with. 

The table saw has a maximum cut depth of 2 1/4" at 45 degrees and 3 1/8" at 90 degrees.

Testing the DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker

I don't expect much out of bluetooth speakers these days but the one main thing I look for is the ease of the bluetooth connectivity. The bluetooth setup for this speaker was easy as 1,2,3 which makes me satisfied. My shop is small, so this speaker is the perfect size for my shop and with up to 100 ft. of bluetooth connectivity, I see no problems in the future. 

I have the larger DEWALT bluetooth speaker and have always loved it, but this compact design has won over my heart. Its much easier to lug around and takes up less space, which for me is golden.

Lightweight Design

I have tested out a few table saws while building and I have to say one of my favorite parts about this table saw is the fact that it's light and compact. I probably wouldn't use it for bigger sheets of wood, but I will definitely be using it for smaller cuts where a circular saw doesn't make sense.

In my shop, I don't have enough room to have every tool set up and ready to go, so most of the time, I'm lugging my tools around, so having this table saw with a lightweight design just makes it easier on me for transportation both on and off the job and it fits right in a small corner in my shop so it's out of the way. 

Rack and Pinion Fence

Accuracy is so important in building and this fence stays parallel to the blade for accuracy. This fence makes me feel better about the precise-ness of my cuts and gives me a good feeling knowing I'm not cutting blind. It's also nice to have a push tool stick nicely located not he fence. I highly recommend using this push stick when operating this saw.

Table Saw Stand

I think the DEWALT Table Stand was a nice little additive to the table saw. It was easy to assemble and doesn't take up a ton of space, which is perfect form little workshop.

Favorite Features on the DEWALT Bluetooth Speaker

Compact Size

Sometimes it's easy to think of compact as less power, but with having both the bigger DEWALT speaker and the smaller version, I must say compact is the way to go.

Cordless or Cord

I like having an option to either operate the bluetooth speaker by battery or AC Cord. Often times my battery dies and I don't have a charged one on hand, so it's nice to still be able to plug it in. Music is a must in the shop.

How Could it Be Better?

On the 10" DEWALT Table Saw, It would be nice if the miter gauge was more durable, it seems to be made of plastic and doesn't seem durable over time.

I also noticed that the height adjustment feature on the back legs isn't on the front of the DEWALT 10" table saw and this may cause issues, although I love the feature for uneven work surfaces, I wish it was also on the front. It would be nice to be able to adjust both sides.

Last but certainly not least, is this Husky Tote with Tool Organizer. This thing can hold some tools. I recently used this bag to ship some tools and fit around 50 lbs of tools in there. Now that was pushing it a little bit, but it all fit in there.

Husky Work Knee Pads

TESTING OUT THE RIDGID WET/DRY VAC

I used my new RIDGID wet/dry vac to vacuum out my new SUV and I was so happy with the performance. I especially love the 12 gallon because its a happy medium between the larger vacs and the smaller vacs. Most of my cleanups are moderate at best so I would highly recommend this size.

It easily cleaned the messes in my car, and let me tell you my truck can get crazy at times. With the 15 ft. power cord it was easy for my to move my vac around my SUV from my garage outlet which was very helpful during cleanup.

Hose Storage

This is the first time I have seen hose storage like this on a RIDGID Wet/Dry Vac and I am impressed.

I think most can attest that trying to neatly put away a wet/dry vac hose is always frustrating, but the hose storage on this vac keeps the hose nice and neat and secure when transporting and stowing.

Power Cord Storage

This Ridgid vac also features a storage on top for the 15ft cord. It also allows you to easily pick up the vacuum for transport.

Accessory Ports

The RIDGID wet/dry vac features slots in the casters that allows you to store the accessory pieces in them. This allows you to keep all of the attachments with the wet/dry vac rather than having to store them elsewhere.

HOW COULD IT BE BETTER?

I think this RIDGID Vac design has drastically come a long way from the original design and I can't think of anything that would make this vac better. SO this means this vac gets and A+ from me.
